The Power of Education

"I am 25 years old and have been teaching Khmer and English for 3 years now.  Being a teacher is my dream as I like seeing children in our villages get educated.   In fact, I believe in learning and am studying at university during the weekends. 

Before becoming a teacher, I was working as a waitress for a few months where I earned $40 per month.  Being a waitress was physically tough as I used to work 9 hours a day and 6 days a week.   Both of my father and brother were in the army and serving the country, while my mother stays home looking after us.  If I had lots of money, I would prepare a ceremony for my parents and wishing them long life.  My happiest moment in life was when I passed all my examinations from school!  In terms of my future and dream, I would like to own a business...may be a bookshop."
