Another Step To Greater Coporate Social Responsibility

We are so excited!  We have to start straight away with the punch line: PeopleStories has been chosen by the employees of Oliver Wyman (Singapore) as their charity to support!  Woohoo!  We are so incredibly humbled and proud to announce this achievement. ​

Let me give you a bit of background and share with you the story how we got there… 

One of our ongoing volunteers, Mike Kershner, has kindly been supporting PeopleStories over several years with his donation of time and skills.   We were also fortunate enough to have Mike and his wife over in Cambodia working on a school project.  For us at PeopleStories, we truly value this mutually valuable and powerful experience that not only delivers results to our local schools and communities but creates impactful life experiences for our volunteers too. 

​Like many other volunteers, Mike also faces the challenge of time pressure having to manage his demanding full time role. Working for well-known global management consulting company (one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2019 with a strong focus on making a significant, meaningful impact on society!) Mike decided to use his precious time to get active within Oliver Wyman’s Corporate Social Responsibility Team. ​

As part of their ongoing community support, 8 charities were allowed to ‘pitch’ to all employees about their purpose and mission.  What was truly amazing is that PeopleStories was chosen by the popular votes of all employees here in Singapore!  And managed to obtain 41% of their trust and support!  

For us this makes the achievement even more meaningful as we see it as an endorsement of our purpose and the strength of making meaningful and direct impact at grass root level. 

A big, big Thank You goes out to Mike and the employees at Oliver Wyman.   So, what does this mean going forward?   Well, good question!    

​We have taken the first step to engage with the Oliver Wyman CSR team to map out a meaningful partnership going forward.  We will closely work the team over the next few weeks and months and hopefully see some of them even over in Cambodia next year!
