In Cambodia, there are two seasons. As principal Nika says, “we have rainy season and not rainy season (aka dry season). Right now we are in rainy season”.
Today, it is not rainy at all and the sun is working extra hard! We are hot and sweaty as we continue to build a strong foundation for the new classrooms.
No doubt it is hard work, but our spirit is very high and positive. Our purpose is aligned! It doesn't matter where we came from, how old we are, or what role we play... we all want to improve the learning environment here at Chea Smonn school.
In rural Cambodia, life is simple and school is like an oasis to students. It is the not only the place for learning, it is also a hub for friends, to share some home made snacks, do each other's hair, kick a football or simple just chat along the way. This is how they live and grow. They love their school!
Well, who doesn’t like school?! In the middle of a hard working day, we are greeted by a friendly neighbour - Mr Gor (cow in Khmer)! Even Mr Gor wants to learn and decided to come to school!
How much did you like your school? What was the funniest memory of school?
